Second, Jesus offers a behind-the-scenes look at the process of belief. He emphasizes that "it is the spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all". Physical sight is insufficient for spiritual conviction; spiritual eyes are essential for understanding divine truths. Jesus' words are the means through which spiritual life is imparted. Crucially, no one can come to Jesus "unless it is granted him by the Father". This divine granting, a gift of faith through the Holy Spirit and the Word, explains why some believe, bolstering confidence in God's sovereign plan.

Finally, Jesus affirms that He has it all planned out. He knew from the beginning who would not believe and who would betray him, even choosing Judas knowing his future actions. This foreknowledge assures believers that even difficult setbacks and betrayals are part of God's comprehensive plan. We can trust Jesus, who knows all the details, even when we don't.
